We are so excited to offer you this new innovation in skincare called Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy / CIT). The treatment works to diminish the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the overall improvement of the skin’s texture, tone and colour.
The treatment is non-invasive like all our other treatments and during the treatment you are totally at ease. We use a medical device that is used to create controlled micro-channels in the skin that allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively into the deeper layers of the skin. The skin recognizes these micro-channels as micro-injuries, triggering the skin’s natural repair process. During the repair process, new collagen and elastin are produced, resulting in plumper, smoother, more hydrated skin. This treatment can be performed on the entire face and neck, or on specific areas of the face or body that have wrinkles, scars, or stretchmarks.
While having one treatment will make the skin feel smoother and tighter, a series of 3 to 6 treatments will provide optimal results, we will however, always assess the area being treated to give you an accurate & realistic idea of the number of treatments you may want or need. Micro-needling can also improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation, large pores, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks. Each treatment is customised to accommodate the different skin types and of our clients.
A huge benefit to this treatment, on top of the physical improvement of your skin, is that there is minimal downtime needed after micro-needling. Most of our clients experience mild redness to their skin immediately after treatment. On average, this redness lasts for 1-2 days for our clients, with some clients even heal within 24 hours. Minimal discomfort is also a huge advantage to this procedure. Who wouldn’t want optimal results with minimal discomfort right?
