Pitted skin are deep scars within the skin that look like crater-like pits, these often appear after a bad acne breakout and can be difficult to ignore and hard to cover up with makeup. These deep injuries are a result of tissue loss, as even mild acne inflammation destroys collagen beneath the surface. Typically, once the scar is permanent, a dermatologist will replace the lost tissue with natural fat or other fillers to plump the skin back to its original level or perform surgical excision of the area.
We recently had a client come to see us for a treatment that would support her pitted skin on her cheek area on her face.
For many years, she has suffered from her pitted skin and has tried many alternative treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, Facials, Laser and nothing has worked for her until she tried our Micro-needling treatment.
Micro-needling is an effective treatment that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter and younger-looking skin.
After a microneeding treatment, the body will start to naturally repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. New collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated, and blood supply is enhanced after the treatment, which can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen. This process continues to work over the next five to six months. Before the treatment, we apply very effective topical anaesthetic cream to reduce any discomfort during the procedure.
The images are shown to highlight the improvements in the skin after just ONE treatment. The surface of the skin has raised, and the deep pores have evened themselves out.
