What is Lip Filler?

Dermal lip filler is a soft tissue gel made from hyaluronic acid, gently injected into the lips to enhance their shape and fullness. It is one of the most popular treatments we offer, and for good reason — it is quick, effective, and the results can be as subtle or as noticeable as you like. The Filler We Use

What Can I Expect?

The treatment itself is quick and straightforward, usually taking around 30 minutes from start to finish. Before we begin, a numbing cream is applied to your lips to keep you comfortable throughout, so most clients find the experience far more relaxed than they expected.

Afterwards, it is completely normal to notice some mild swelling for the first 24 to 48 hours. Your lips may look a little fuller or plumper than you are expecting in that first day or two — this is simply the swelling settling down, and it does not reflect your final result. Try not to judge the outcome too early; give your lips that short window to settle before forming an opinion.

Most people are able to carry on with their day fairly normally afterwards, though we will always run through some simple aftercare guidance with you before you leave so you know exactly what to expect over the following day or two.

Results & How Long Do They Last?

You will see volume in your lips straight away, although your true final shape only becomes fully visible once any initial swelling has settled, usually within 1 to 2 weeks. It is worth being patient during this short settling period, as your lips will look and feel more natural with each day that passes.

Results from lip filler typically last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, though this can vary depending on the specific product used and your own individual metabolism. Some people find their body processes filler more quickly than others, which is completely normal — we will always discuss what to expect for you personally during your consultation.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Lip filler is suitable for most adults who would like a little more volume, better definition, or improved symmetry in their lips. Aftercare

Looking after your lips properly in the first few days after treatment helps you get the best possible result and keeps any side effects to a minimum. We will talk you through this in person, but here is a quick overview:

• Try to avoid touching or applying pressure to your lips for the first 24 to 48 hours after treatment, to allow the filler to settle properly.
• Steer clear of strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive heat (such as saunas or sunbeds) for 24 to 48 hours, as these can increase swelling.
• Some swelling, tenderness or small bumps are completely normal in the first few days and will settle on their own — please do not be alarmed if your lips feel slightly different to the touch at first.
• If your lips feel sensitive, avoid very hot drinks and spicy food for the first day, as these can aggravate the area while it settles.
