Polynucleotides for the eyes — also known as Lumi Eyes — is a regenerative injectable treatment that helps to revitalise, hydrate and brighten the delicate skin around the eyes.
What is LumiEyes?
LumiEyes is a polynucleotide-based regenerative treatment designed specifically for the delicate, sensitive skin around your eyes. If you’ve noticed dark circles, fine lines, or skin that simply looks tired no matter how much sleep you get, LumiEyes works in a fundamentally different way to traditional treatments — it doesn’t mask the problem, it helps your skin repair and renew itself from within.
Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments, originally derived from natural sources, that your body recognises as building blocks for repair. Rather than adding volume the way a dermal filler does, they work by stimulating your skin’s own regenerative processes — encouraging healthier, thicker, more elastic skin in the treated area. For the under-eye region specifically, that means addressing the root cause of many concerns: skin that has become thin, fragile or translucent over time.
This makes LumiEyes especially well suited to dark circles and discolouration caused by thin skin allowing underlying blood vessels and muscle to show through, rather than concerns caused by volume loss or hollowing, which respond better to tear trough dermal filler. If your under-eye area has lost its youthful resilience and looks dull, crepey or shadowed, LumiEyes is designed to gently restore it.
Many of our clients find the best results come from combining the two approaches — LumiEyes to improve the quality, thickness and texture of the skin itself, alongside tear trough filler to restore lost volume where needed. Used together, they can give a more complete, naturally refreshed result than either treatment alone. We’ll always talk you through which approach, or combination, is right for your individual eyes during your consultation.
How Does It Work?
LumiEyes works through a series of very fine, shallow injections, carefully placed into the thin skin beneath and around your eyes. Because this is one of the most delicate areas of your face, the technique is gentle and precise, using tiny amounts of the polynucleotide solution distributed across the treatment area rather than larger volumes in single points.
Once introduced into the skin, the polynucleotides are recognised by your body as familiar biological material. This triggers a natural regenerative response — your skin’s fibroblast cells are stimulated to produce fresh collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for skin’s strength, structure and bounce. Over the following weeks, this gradually thickens and strengthens the under-eye skin from within.
As the skin rebuilds and its quality improves, you’ll typically notice better hydration, a smoother texture, and a reduction in the fine lines that catch the light unflatteringly. Because thicker, healthier skin is also less translucent, dark circles caused by visible blood vessels or muscle beneath the surface tend to soften too — giving your eyes a brighter, more rested appearance that builds gradually and naturally rather than appearing overnight.
What Can I Expect?
A LumiEyes appointment takes around 30 minutes from start to finish, making it easy to fit into a lunch break or a quiet afternoon. Because the under-eye area is particularly sensitive, we apply a topical numbing cream before we begin and allow it time to take effect, so you’re as comfortable as possible throughout.
Your practitioner will then use a very fine needle or cannula to deliver the polynucleotide solution into the skin with a gentle, controlled technique. Most clients describe the sensation as a series of light pinpricks rather than anything painful, and the numbing cream helps keep any discomfort to a minimum.
Afterwards, it’s common to notice some mild swelling or small, temporary bumps where the product has been placed. This is a normal part of the process as the solution settles into the skin, and it typically resolves within a day or two, after which your skin will look smooth and natural.

Results & How Long Do They Last?
LumiEyes is a regenerative treatment, which means its results build gradually rather than appearing instantly. We typically recommend a course of 3 to 4 sessions, spaced around 2 to 3 weeks apart, to give your skin the best opportunity to fully respond and rebuild over the course of treatment.
With each session, you should notice a progressive improvement in the thickness, brightness and overall quality of your under-eye skin, as collagen and elastin production continues to build. Many clients find that dark circles soften, fine lines become less noticeable, and the skin simply looks healthier and more resilient as the course progresses.
Because the results come from genuine skin regeneration rather than a temporary filling effect, they tend to be longer-lasting than many other under-eye treatments. To sustain and build on your results, we recommend maintenance sessions every few months, keeping your skin’s regenerative processes topped up over time.
Am I a Good Candidate?
LumiEyes is an excellent option if you’re bothered by dark circles or discolouration under your eyes, particularly where this is caused by thin or fragile skin rather than hollowing or volume loss. It’s equally well suited if your main concern is fine lines, crepiness, or simply skin that looks tired and lacks vitality around the eyes.
This treatment is especially valuable for clients who aren’t ideal candidates for tear trough dermal filler — for example, where the under-eye skin is so thin that filler can sometimes show as a visible bluish tinge. LumiEyes offers a gentler, regenerative alternative that improves the skin itself rather than adding volume beneath it. It’s also a popular choice for clients who already have tear trough filler and want to complement it with a treatment that improves skin quality and texture for an even more refreshed, natural-looking result. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and talk through whether LumiEyes, filler, or a combination of both will give you the result you’re looking for.
Aftercare
The skin around your eyes is especially delicate, so a little extra care in the days after your LumiEyes treatment will help you get the best possible results.
- Avoid touching, rubbing or applying pressure to the treated area for at least 24 hours, to allow the product to settle undisturbed.
- Steer clear of strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat (saunas, steam rooms, hot baths) for 24 hours, as these can increase swelling.
- Mild swelling or small bumps around the eyes are a normal part of the healing process and usually settle within a day or two — please don’t be alarmed if you notice these.
- A cold compress, applied gently, can help ease any swelling, and we recommend avoiding makeup on the treated area for the rest of the day to reduce the risk of irritation.
