VI Peel (Vitality Institute) is a medical-grade chemical peel system that delivers dramatic improvements in skin tone, texture, acne, pigmentation and signs of ageing — all with minimal downtime.
What is the VI Peel?
The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel system that uses a unique, carefully balanced blend of acids to gently remove the damaged outer layers of your skin, revealing the brighter, smoother, more even-toned skin that lies beneath. It is one of the most respected peel systems used in aesthetic medicine, and it’s a treatment we use regularly here at Skin Rejuvenation Clinic for clients who want real, visible change without committing to harsh, lengthy downtime.
Unlike many over-the-counter peels, the VI Peel works on multiple layers of the skin at once. This means it can address a wide range of concerns in a single treatment, including sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and early signs of ageing, acne and acne scarring, and uneven or congested texture. The acid blend is specifically formulated to be powerful enough to deliver meaningful results, while still being predictable and manageable for your skin to recover from.
What makes the VI Peel particularly popular is the balance it strikes. Many of the more aggressive peels on the market can leave skin raw, inflamed or unpredictable in how it heals. The VI Peel, by contrast, is designed so that you know what to expect at every stage — from the sensation during application, right through to the peeling process in the days that follow. That predictability is part of why so many of our clients return for repeat treatments as part of their ongoing skincare routine.
Because the VI Peel is available in several different formulations, it can be tailored closely to your individual skin concerns rather than offering a single one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll talk you through exactly which variant suits you best during your consultation.
Which VI Peel is Right for You?
One of the biggest advantages of the VI Peel system is its range. Rather than a single formula, there are several distinct VI Peel variants, each designed to target a particular skin concern, so your treatment can be matched precisely to your goals.
- VI Peel Original – our most popular all-rounder, ideal for general rejuvenation, refining tone and texture, and addressing the early signs of ageing.
- VI Peel Precision Plus – formulated specifically for pigmentation concerns, including melasma and sun-induced dark patches, helping to even out skin tone.
- VI Peel Purify – designed for active acne and oily, congested skin, helping to clear breakouts and refine pores.
- VI Peel Purify with Precision Plus – a combination formula for clients dealing with both acne and the scarring or hyperpigmentation it can leave behind.
- VI Peel Advanced – a deeper-acting option that supports collagen renewal, fine lines and stretch marks, including use on body areas.
During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and talk through your goals so we can recommend the variant — or combination of variants over a course of treatments — that will give you the best results.
VI Peel — Advanced Chemical Resurfacing
What Can I Expect?
A VI Peel appointment is quick and straightforward, typically taking around 30 to 45 minutes from start to finish. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and prepared before the peel solution is carefully applied in layers across the treatment area.
During application, it’s normal to feel a mild tingling or warming sensation on your skin. This usually settles quickly and most clients find it very tolerable. Once the treatment is complete, you’ll be given clear aftercare instructions and a take-home kit to support your skin through the days that follow.
It’s important to set realistic expectations here: over the following 3 to 5 days, your skin will visibly peel and flake as the damaged outer layers are shed. This is a completely normal and expected part of the renewal process, and it’s actually a sign that the treatment is working. Please don’t be alarmed by it — we’ll explain exactly what to expect at each stage before you leave the clinic.
Most people are able to continue with their normal daily activities throughout the peeling process. That said, because the visible flaking is noticeable, many clients prefer to plan their peel around a period with fewer social or work commitments, simply for their own comfort and confidence.
Results & How Long Do They Last?
Once the peeling process has completed — typically within about a week — you’ll be left with fresh, brighter, more even-toned skin underneath. Many clients are delighted by just how smooth and radiant their skin feels at this stage.
Results don’t stop there, however. Over the following weeks, you’ll often notice continued improvement in your skin’s tone and texture as collagen production is stimulated and your skin continues to renew itself from within.
For more significant concerns such as stubborn pigmentation or acne scarring, a single peel is rarely enough to achieve your full goals. We typically recommend a course of peels, spaced several weeks apart, to build on results progressively and safely. This staged approach allows your skin time to recover fully between treatments while still making steady, visible progress.
To maintain your results over the longer term, occasional maintenance peels combined with a good home skincare routine and diligent daily SPF use will help keep your skin looking its best.
Am I a Good Candidate?
The VI Peel is a wonderfully versatile treatment, which makes it suitable for a broad range of clients and concerns. You may be an excellent candidate if you’re dealing with sun damage, pigmentation or melasma, active acne or acne scarring, fine lines and early signs of ageing, or simply dull, uneven skin texture that you’d like to refresh.
Because there are several VI Peel variants available, each formulated for different skin concerns and sensitivities, this treatment can be adapted to suit most skin types. A thorough consultation will help us determine exactly which variant, and what strength, is right for you, ensuring your treatment plan is both safe and effective for your individual skin.
Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to getting the best results from your VI Peel and keeping your skin comfortable while it heals. We’ll talk you through everything in detail at your appointment, but here are the key points to keep in mind:
- Follow the specific cleansing and moisturising routine provided in your take-home peel kit precisely — the products are formulated to work together with the peel for the best results.
- Avoid picking, peeling or scratching at your skin manually, even when flaking begins. Let the skin shed naturally in its own time to avoid irritation, scarring or uneven results.
- Use a high-factor SPF diligently every day during and after your peel, as the fresh new skin underneath will be significantly more sensitive to sun exposure.
- Avoid active ingredients such as retinol and exfoliating acids, as well as strenuous exercise or anything that causes heavy sweating, for several days while your skin is actively peeling.
