Profhilo

Profhilo is a revolutionary bioremodelling injectable made from one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available. It treats skin laxity from within, deeply hydrating and remodelling ageing tissue.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is one of the most exciting developments in aesthetic medicine — a unique injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that works in a completely different way to traditional dermal filler. Where filler is designed to add volume and reshape specific contours, Profhilo is what is known as a "skin booster" or bio-remodelling treatment. It is not intended to plump, shape or add structure anywhere on your face or body. Instead, its entire purpose is to dramatically improve the quality of your skin itself — its hydration, elasticity and overall tone — from within.

What makes Profhilo so effective is its formulation. It contains one of the highest concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid available in any injectable product, combining both low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid in a single, stabilised solution. This thermal stabilisation process (rather than chemical cross-linking, as used in filler) means that once Profhilo is placed beneath your skin, it does not stay fixed in one spot. Instead, it spreads evenly and gently through the surrounding tissue.

As it disperses, Profhilo interacts directly with your skin’s own cells, encouraging them to ramp up production of collagen and elastin — the two proteins responsible for keeping your skin firm, plump and youthful. This is why Profhilo is often described as a bio-remodelling treatment rather than a filler: it is working with your body to restore the skin’s natural architecture, rather than simply adding volume on top of it.

For many of our clients, Profhilo is the missing piece between great skincare and more structural treatments like dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections. It addresses the underlying quality of your skin — something that products alone often cannot reach, and that filler alone is not designed to treat.

How Does It Work?

Profhilo is administered using a distinctive injection pattern often referred to as the BAP technique — short for Bio Aesthetic Points. Rather than treating wrinkles or folds individually, your practitioner will place a small number of injections at specific, carefully mapped points across the treatment area. This might be five points per side of the face, or a similar pattern across your neck, décolletage or hands, depending on what we are treating.

Because Profhilo is designed to diffuse rather than stay put, each injection point allows the product to spread out slowly beneath the skin over the following days. As it moves through the tissue, it stimulates your fibroblasts — the cells responsible for producing collagen, elastin and the hyaluronic acid networks that exist naturally in your skin. The result is a gradual, internal improvement in tightness, hydration and that healthy, lit-from-within glow that so many clients tell us they are searching for.

This is a fundamentally different mechanism to dermal filler. Filler is designed to stay precisely where it is placed, holding its shape to restore volume or definition to a specific area. Profhilo does the opposite — it is engineered to spread and disappear into the wider tissue, leaving behind nothing but improved skin quality. There is no shaping, no contouring and no added volume; the changes you see are because your own skin is producing more of the structural proteins it needs.

What Can I Expect?

A Profhilo appointment is refreshingly quick and straightforward. Most sessions take around 30 minutes from start to finish, including time to cleanse the skin, discuss your goals and apply the injections themselves.

You will receive a handful of small injections at the agreed Bio Aesthetic Points, which might be on your face, neck, hands or another treatment area depending on your individual consultation. The needles used are very fine, and most clients describe the sensation as minimal discomfort — more of a quick pinch than anything painful.

One of the reasons Profhilo has become so popular is that there is no real downtime involved. You can typically return to your normal daily activities straight afterwards. You may notice tiny bumps at the injection points immediately after treatment — this is completely normal and simply the product sitting under the skin before it begins to disperse. These small bumps almost always settle down within a day, leaving no visible trace.

Results & How Long Do They Last?

To achieve the full bio-remodelling effect, we recommend a course of two sessions spaced four weeks apart. This protocol gives your skin time to respond to the first treatment before reinforcing those improvements with a second.

Many clients begin to notice their skin feeling more hydrated and looking brighter within the first couple of weeks, but the real transformation builds progressively. By around eight weeks after your first session, the full effects of bio-remodelling — improved elasticity, tightness and that sought-after natural glow — are typically at their most visible.

Once you have completed your initial course, the improvements to your skin quality generally last around six months. After this point, we recommend a single top-up session to maintain your results, keeping your skin consistently hydrated, firm and radiant all year round.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Profhilo is an excellent option if you are starting to notice the early signs of skin laxity — perhaps your skin feels less firm than it used to, or you have noticed dehydration, crepey texture, thinning or a general loss of that youthful bounce. It is particularly popular with clients in their thirties through to their sixties who want to address skin quality before considering more structural treatments.

It also works beautifully alongside dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections as part of a broader skin-quality programme. Many of our clients combine Profhilo with these treatments to achieve results that look natural from every angle — restoring volume and softening lines where needed, while Profhilo improves the health and texture of the skin itself.

Profhilo is not limited to the face. We frequently treat the neck, décolletage and hands too, as these areas often show some of the earliest visible signs of ageing and respond very well to the same bio-remodelling process.

Aftercare

Profhilo requires very little aftercare, but following a few simple guidelines in the first 24 hours will help you get the very best from your treatment.

  • Avoid touching, rubbing or applying pressure to the injection points for at least 24 hours, allowing the product to settle and begin dispersing undisturbed.
  • Steer clear of strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive heat (including saunas, steam rooms and hot baths) for 24 hours, as these can increase blood flow and swelling around the treated areas.
  • It is completely normal to notice small bumps at the injection sites straight after treatment — these almost always settle within a day or two and are simply a sign the product is exactly where it needs to be.
  • Drink plenty of water in the days following your appointment. Staying well hydrated supports the hyaluronic acid in doing its job and helps you get the most out of your results.
